cam timing gear got into the block a little
I have a 70's 350 and the upper cam gear of the timing chain has gotten into the block a little, the raised section on the back of the gear wore into the block a little around the outside of the cambearing. It didnt hurt the bearing or anything it just wore down that protruding surface outside the cam bearing a little. Why did this happen? What is it going to take to fix this and prevent it from happening again? I will be installing a double roller cloyes street timing chain and gears. Thanks so much
