Camaro 10-bolt 8.2 upgrade - gear question

Hi all!

I am looking to upgrade the existing 8.2-inch 10-bolt in my 68 Camaro. I looked into the 8.5-inch 10-bolt upgrade, but I understand that the pinion is longer, meaning I would need to shorten the driveshaft. Because I am running a mild 327 (9.1, Edelbrock Performer cam and intake, etc.), a slightly higher than stock stall converter and a mild TH350, I think I can get away with just redoing my 8.2-incher.

I am planning to get an Eaton Posi differential, but I am looking for input on gear selection. I think I will go 3.55 (car runs pretty strong even with the 2.73/open diff), but I wanted input on the various gear sets out there. The installation will be overseen by a friend with lots of rear rebuilds under his belt. He has his opinions on the gear manufacturers I should look at, but I figured I'd tap you all as well.

I understand the Richmonds can be noisy. the car is a convertible, and although it's already louder than stock (headers blowing through a factory style dual exhaust will do that), I don't want a whiny rear end (wait, that didn't come out right).

Any thoughts on strong, but quiet gear sets out there?
