camaro exhaust question.

I have a 84 camaro 305 and it has the stock y pipe exhaust. i checked under the car and there doesnt seem to be anyway you could run dual ehxaust under this car without it getting nocked off by something on the road. this car is low as it is and was wondering if there are mufflers that i can bolt right to the manifold that would give me ample clearance and still not wake up my neighbors when i crank it up in the morning?

I installed EDL-6871 headers and Y pipe connected to
FLO-17151 as I donīt have or need a cat I used a length of
3" tube from Summit. Itīs not quiet but not loud enough to be a nuisance. The setup worked on my 305 and is now fitted to my 355. Paint the headers before installation.
Ground clearance is tight, my car is lowered 1 1/2" in front and 1"
at the rear.

hey 84_sportcoupe, I worked in a Coustom muffler shop for seven years and youre right ,duals arent going to happen ( at least not cleanly )I would suggest going with a kit that will give you a large pipe size single such as 3" or 2 1/2 ", and you get what you pay for when you buy a kit.

A single 3" will handle 350 hp - more than your 305 will ever see without power adders.
Check this out-

handy reference for exhaust sizing.

Come on you all! 84, just go browse over to "G-force performance" and they sell the tranny crossmember so you wont have to cut up your car.
