camaro front clip

i am new to this site and need to find information. my wife is wanting me to build her a camaro and i am starting to piece together parts. i have a friend that has a complete 68 comaro front clip with hood. where can i find out what years camaro's it will fit and and if it will fit the firebirds as well.

hey welcome to HR, I'm over in Augusta...The sheet metal will fit 66 -68.....the hood will fit a 69 (not that you would want to put it on one) ...if you have the subframe that'll fit 66-69 also firebrd too ...but the sheet metal is differnt on the bird ,the hood will fit but you wouldnt want a bird hood on a camero...

'67 and '68 are very similar, except the '68 had the new side marker lights. My guess is that it will fit the firebird too, though I have never tried it. I can't imagine GM would change the major body dimensions between the two models. The wheelbases were the same, so no difference there. The front clip mounting points, would be the next question.

The '69 Firebird and Camaro had a raised peak coming off of the top of the front wheel opening, that tapered halfway back on the door, so the 67-68 front sheetmetal would not match the '69s doors without some welding and metalwork... and of course '69 front would have the reversed problem on a '67-'68 main body.

I would try to find a complete car, as opposed to building something out of mismatched parts, that may not be worth as much when you sell it someday.
