camaro heater wiring

I'm trying to wire my 71 camaro for heat. Some genius cut the wires at the firewall. I have an ac delete box. I still have the resistor that was on the ac box and I bought a new relay. I just need help with what wires to hook to the relay and do I have to have the resistor since I don't want to cut a hole in the ac delete box. Everything from the switch to the firewall is there so I should be able to get the colors from the wiring fairly easy.

Can't help with the colour codes of what goes to the relay, but you will need to keep the resistor around if you want the low & medium fan speeds. The dash switch chooses different 'coils' of the wire-wound resistors for the speeds, on high it's a full 12V to the blower motor. That may be where the relay comes in but I can't say for sure.

looked at the diagram relay has 16 gauge(small orange) and 12 gauge large orange plus a 12 gauge purple to the tee or group of three terminals 16 gauge black goes to the single post (tee upside down) black terminal is at top by itself then first terminal is heavy orange left term is smaller orange right term is heavy purple. The blower motor should have a single heavy purple wire to it with a rubber boot end there should also be a black case ground wire. blower motor resistor should have 16 gauge yellow 16 gauge lt blue, purple and an 18 gauge lt green. let me know if this helps.

HERE is a PDF of the 1970 Camaro wiring diagram.

Also, take a look HERE for some diagrams. Not necessarily your year, but other years will be similar. Let me know if you are unable to enlarge them.

The forum there has a lot of good info as well.
