Camaro K-Members

Bought an '82 Camaro, cheap, has a factory 4-cyl TBI.
Swapping in a 350.

Any ideas what other vehicles I might be able to pull a compatible k-member out of?

As far as I can tell on those they all use the same engine cradle so all you need is the correct engine mounts..

Sam is correct, all versions have the same cradle, you just need the correct mounts, mounted in the correct holes on the crossmember.

Awesome.

So, as far as the suspension goes, all I should have to change then is the springs?

Thanks guys!

Changing the springs may or may not be necessary depending on what you are going to be doing with it. the 4 cyl springs work great for a drag car/street strip with alum heads, intake, headers and fiberglass hood, but if it is autocross or handling you are searching for you will need to make a change.

Camaro 3rd. gen front and rear spring p/n and specs. You'll see the front spring rates vary from the 300's to the mid 700's. I wouldn't be surprised if the struts were valved differently.

You can check your RPO code sticker to see if you have any suspension-related goodies like F41.

I wouldn't hesitate to build it w/the 4-cylinder suspension, just keep an eye on the ride height- especially if the springs are old.
