cameras for side view mirrors?
I've been juggling this one around for a while now. I really don't want to clutter up the side of my project car with mirrors. I purchased a couple of california style mirrors and I just dont like the way they look or mount. I suppose I could build some sort of custom mirror and make it blend with the door but I'd like to drive this thing while I can still push a clutch in
I've looked into replacing the mirrors with small ccd cameras and mounting a single or dual 3" lcd screens in place or on either side of the rear view mirror. I think they would give me a much better field of view than small mirrors. The technology looks to be good enough to do this with reasonable cost but I'm concerned with the legal aspect of it. I haven't seen it done yet so it may be to soon. What do you guys think? Ed |
