As you can see from the pictures I have done a fair bit of work to the Corvette, new suspension, rewired etc.. etc.. so now it is time to start on the engine. I have an L82 350 with 4 bolt mains, flat top pistons, 76cc chambers, standard GM cast iron intake, Hyd.lifters, L46 Cam ( 0.450/0.460 lift, 222 duration) it has 9.1 CR, all this translates to a mind boggling 205HP/255 Torque.
This what I intend to do ( I forgot to mention all smog equipment has been removed I am running headers & an almost straight through exhaust system), I want to add AFR 180cc heads ( 68cc chambers) Edelbrock RPM air gap intake & re use my quadrajet carb. I need advice as to which camshaft, I am looking towards Howards roller cams & I know I need a single pattern cam BUT this is where I am not certain which is the best for torque from 1500 to 5500 rpm. I have a tremec trans 2.87 first gear .67 5th & am thinking of changing my rear diff from 3:55 to either a 4:11 or 4:33. I just need to know what is the best roller setup for these heads or am I not matching parts correctly. I just need torque, I don't race the car but have a friend with a C5 & want to keep up with him ha ha! Thanks in advance for any advice. Jez
