I hoping someone could recommend a camshaft for the engine I am putting together once again. I am building a 350 Chevy 0.060 over, 190/72cc heads, 2.02 x 1.60 64cc chamber. With the pistons I am using I should see around 9.8 10.1 compression. The motor most likely will not see over 6k RPMs. The engine is going in my 1986 El Camino, TH350 transmission 2000 stall, 373 gears. I want something I can take out on the weekends not to radical, still have decent street manors.
do you have any flow figures on the heads?
110885-10 NA 278 278 225º 225º .525 .525 110º 106º
2000-5800 Fair idle, Street high performance. 2200+ stall, aftermarket intake and headers
start around here and make adjustments for head flow/personal preferance, and maybe change to split patter if the exhaust flow numbers are weak compared to intake side.
What piston deck height?
What head gasket?
Block been decked? What is block deck height?
What intake manifold manufacturer and part number?
Headers or manifolds?
Speed Pro flat top pistons H345DCP60
( I am hoping to stay just under 10.1)
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake
Mid-length Headers, 2 1/2 exhaust
0.41 compressed Head Gasket
Stock block Deck height
Head Specs 64cc aluminum heads
I was looking at these Howards camshaft 110951-10 or 110951-12
The thing I do not understand, how can a lobe separation of 108 have a good idle while 112 has a rougher idle? Same lift, same Duration. Do I am have it backwards the higher the lobe separation the rougher the idle?
you are looking at flat tappet cams,,,
yes, that is what I can afford at this time, I would like roller, but lack of $$$. :D
