Comp cam web site has what you need. A link at the bottom nearest the right side.

Hey Keith, well I was just confused about what I was reading about turning the engine over ( to piston stop ) then back, and the multiplying and division.
I went to a friend of mine today who is a engine builder and he made the prossess alot simpler for me by having me use a dial indicator to find TDC.
That was what I was confused about.
Thanks for your reply, and I will more than likely have plenty of more questions in the future. I am building a 383 and had to get one of those small shaft cams for rod bolt clearance, ( comp cam ) It has been ran before but I am freshing it up and I have never degreed a cam before. I found out it was at seven degrees BTDC and the cam card says fifteen, but my engine builder friend did some math and told me to set it at nineteen BTDC, I am sure he knows because he builds alot of high dollar race engines I just hate to bother him too much because I know alot of people are always asking his advise. Thanks again..... Al

Ok,,,Sounds like your on the right track.... One quick way to double check your self is to check the valve events to what the card has listed....
