camshaft identification help

i have a 350 4 bolt that i am rebuilding. my one friend has given me a cam that he bought at a swap meet. the cams in really good shape and considering i'm still in high school moneys kinda tight so i would really like to us it. we're not sure about specifications on the cam. There is the number 497140 on the back of the cam, infront of the distributor gear are the letters/numbers C5 D5, in the middle of the cam is CWC 1579 and in the front of it are E5 26. any help on what this cam is would be really appreciated. yodert75

My opinion only....DONT use a swap meet cam unless you get the cam card and the matching lifters kept in sequence for each lobe, then its still a gamble. A new cam and lifter kit is about $150, you know what you're getting that will match the combo for your engine. Its well worth the alternative to tearing your engine back down and replacing everything when you wipe out the swap meet cam.
