camshaft power or not

: changing from 402 lift cam to 450 cam on 350/.060 will this be a drastick change in take off when you are already @ 2200 rpm and punch the pedel;this is for dirt track

Given the increased duration that the extra lift requires, there will be an increase in power at a higher RPM, all else being equal. And before you ask, I do not know how much difference.

AFA "drastic", no, there won't be a drastic difference. In fact, if you're racing on dirt, it may give traction problems where there were none before- and will actually accelerate slower. It all depends on a LOT of variables.

If you're lugging the motor down to 2200 in the corners, you need more gear before you need more cam.
