Camshaft replacement

Is it crucial to change cam bearings if you change your cam in a low mileage engine? I think I might have a cam going flat in my 406.

No, as long as it's just a cam change, inspect them though. Some go for at least one rebuild without changing them. I change mine when I freshen, only because I have the tool and it's cheap.
