Can bad booster kill engine at low r's?

my daught's Olds Bravada dies sometimes when she brakes and the vacuum hose is good, so i am thinking a bad booster unit? seems like it is sucking all the vacuum away from the motor. or am i all cracked out?

if so what else should i look at?

It happens. Seen it a few times in the past year. Booster leaks vacuum, sometimes and sometimes not, gets worse more consistent.
Do you hear the vacuum leak inside while applying brakes? that is a good indicator.
You can pinch the hose or block it, and try it to see if the symptom dissapears, just to check, easiest thing to start with.
