I do not blend clear if it is over 30 days old. Unless it is an emergency situation. I re shoot the complete panel or go to a body line.

I think we misunderstood each other.
Are you saying with the color your "panel painting"?
Not if you own three body shops, your not.

Every shop I'm in, they spot the base and re-clear the panel.
Thats all were doing here, no difference except skipping the base.

Whats the chemical difference between clear and single stage?
Tint and adjustment on the nocs and thats it.

Any clear will work polyurethane is always the best but Acrylic urethane is great also.
Not sure whats available in your side of woods there!

In the long run it's cheaper and faster.
Never have to worry about a job coming back or peeling.
