Hey guys the question im askin here is I have a 93 silverado pickup. Im trying to use the trans out of my 90 model. The 93 has the large elec. plug on the passenger side and no kickdown cable. But the 90 model just has the square elec. plug on the drivers side and a kickdown cable. I know they will bolt up bellhousing wise and torque converter wise (correct me if Im wrong). but is there a way to make these interchange like looking up the kickdown cable, and splicing the plug or something so I can still have lockup. Thanks

The 93 is a 4l60e and won't work with your application.
Its computer controlled.

Here's some reading for you Crosley is a trans guru. And when he see this he should be able to help you .93 4l60e to 89 700r4 questions .

no... the truck PCM will look for feeed back from the electronics on the 4L60e trans a few times a second during operation.

You can bolt in the 4L60 early version and the check engine lite is on and DTC are set which affect the operation of the power train.

I have read that some guys use a manual trans PCM in a swap over. I have no idea on how that is done and seems like too much work when a proper rebuild of the broken 4L60E can be performed easier.

DTC = trouble codes. About 8 - 12 are set usually when the trans is unplugged and the vehicle operated

alright well I had a 700r4 that I had rebuilt for an earlier project but got rid of the truck. I was hoping I could just use it. But I appreciate the help
