Can the newer Vortec pistons and rods be used in an older block?

This may have been asked before or at least covered but I wasnít able to find a defiant answer in searching.
Does anyone know if the pistons and rods from a 98 5.7 Vortec mill be used in an older 350 block?
I have a set from a Vortec and I need a set for an older block both are standard bore yet. Can I just use them or is this a no go?
Thank you

They should fit in a good standard bore block. But I would weigh the piston and rad against the old ones to make sure the weights are close.

Yep, pistons, rods, rings, pins, and some bearings interchange between early SBC, late SBC, and even LT1

Great, thanks guys. I was hoping that was the case. Didnít want to spend much on this block and use what I have lying around. Appreciate it!!

I should add that vortec and LT1 heads are shaped differently than traditional SBC heads, so if you're going with anything but flattops you might want to be careful in the shape of the dish or dome.
