can the same power steering pump be used?

I am trying to figure out ideas on how or if I can run my same power steering pump. I have a 91 rs camaro 3.1 that has a 350 swap and I know there are brackets for a sbc ps pump but I cannot find one at a parts store, and have hesitated on going to a junk yard yet. Im trying to find the cheapest most reliable source.

I have been told I can get a ps pump from an old van with a 350 and it will bold directly through to the heads, but before I shell out money on a lost cause I wanted to get some other ideas out there. Thanks in advance!

Depends on what type of front accessory drive you're using: a long or short water pump or a serpentine set-up.

If you have the "standard" long w/p using V-belts, the p/s brackets can be bought from Summit, etc., or the best thing IMO is to go to the junk yard for it. Same thing for the serpentine set-up. Finding a complete short water pump set up in the 'yards these days might not be as easy. Long water pumps were used on small block passenger cars engines from 1969-'87 and on 1973-'86 light duty trucks. Before that they were short, after that they were serpentine.

Yes I forgot to mention that it is a long water pump so I am using v belts. And my concern about a junk yard is id assume there to be a lot more serpentine setups and then the setups may not match up exactly. Maybe I should just go up there and do some fishing around just to see what all they have cause it has been some years since my last visit
