Can this xmember be fixed?

Sorry, let me try this pic thing again.

I bought this crossmember off e-bay and when it showed up, this is what I found. I am wondering if the pitting will be unsafe. The part that the a-arm bolts to don't look to bad but the piece below it look bad. Can I run some weld over the bad part or maybe replace it? Gussets? Thanks. I hope the pix show up this time.
