can you turn a long bed into a short??

i have a 1972 chevy c10 long bed can you turn it into a short???

Yes it can be done . The frame is cut down in a Z with a diamond shaped plate to strengthen it . The bed is also cut and welded . Pretty big project , but not undoable . 1947-99 Chevy trucks search long bed to short .

The frame shortening is a fairly easy job not a real big deal. You will have to shorten drive shaft and brake lines and cables. The box can get a little labor intensive. If I were you I would look at selling your box and find a 88-99 chev short box step side box. I think they go real well on these trucks. Look on barret jacksons site there was a couple go though this last sale in AZ with the later model box.
