I've vacationed in BC twice in the last 20 years. The last time, we stayed in one of the cottages in Bamfeild for the salt water Salmon and Halibut fishing. Unfortunately El-Ninio had the water temperature in the narrows so screwed up, all we managed to catch were Mackerel. To make matters worse, they closed the ocean to Salmon sport fishing the day before we arrived so we got stuck fishing inside. It rained non-stop the whole time we were there, to boot.. We still managed to keep our chins up for a good time though. Once we got on the road home, the weather cleared and we got a chance to take in some of the great sites BC has to offer. http://www.vancouverisland.ws/bamfieldf/cottages.html

The highlight of the trip came just the other side of the border, at an Indian Casino in Washington, when I managed to hit a $600 jackpot on a slot machine. It helped pay for all those Imperial gallons of gas we bought.

Here in Maine we have a lot of French/Canadian influence. We have both Tim Hortons and our own Dunkin' Donuts. I like them both. Tim Hortons make some good Maple donuts and I like their sandwiches. Dunkin' Donuts makes the best Boston Cream donuts and a darn good cup of coffee. You guys aren't the only ones suckin' down the coffee on a cold winter mornin'.

Winnipeg may have a nice beach but in Regina we have the worlds longest bridge over the shortest span of water. We're quite proud of it and every now and then we run our cars into the railings. Seriously though, if your coming to Canada, it's best to call first to let us know, that way we can make sure the restaurant has some extra food .

What?

You can't have a discussion about Canada without mentioning Red Green. Man.

Well Steve, you may have the longest bridge over the shortest span of water, but we have the longest single spanned suspension bridge in Canada. It spans the Souris river in Souris Manitoba, which is also known to rock hounds for it's awesome Rock Pit (been there, done that), and the Souris Motor Speedway.

Chickie.

P.S. Barz51- Red Green lives right next door, I'll tell him you said hi. LOL

Hey Chickie, but can you drive a car over it. Say, we had the first ABM machine in Canada. Another good reason to visit Saskatchewan. (I'm running out though)
