can't find vin# on 1964 impala

I bought a 1964 chevy impala it is missing both vin # plates is there a vin vin# on the frame if there is where would it be located?????????????

look in the driver door at front finder

Some say there is a VIN on the frame and some say that there is not. On both ot the '62 frames I had, neither one had a number anywhere. You might have a bit of a problem on your hands. I would go to www.chevytalk.com and go to their '61-'64 Fullsize site and post the question. There are some real diehard experts on the '61-'64 Chevys and I imagine one of them could set you straight on what you would need to do. Although without a VIN, the local POPO's could kind of look at it as a stolen vehicle and the VIN was removed because of that. Good luck and let us know what you find out.
