Are you using any kind of traction devices now?

I have a 65 Beaumont (think Chevelle) and had the same problem. My car has the same basic suspension as yours (4 link). I swapped out the lower control arms for a set of boxed arms from Chassis Engineering, uppers with tubular control arms (bought used, not sure of manufacturer) and a set of Edelbrock No-Hop bars. Also installed air bags and Competition Engineering drag shocks set at 70/30 (I think). Front suspension has Competition Engineering drag shocks set at 90/10. Now I have no axle hop but still suffer from wheel spin (BFG T/A's), however it is much more manageable now than it was before. Next up is drag radials. Also you want to rear lower control arms to be as close to parallel with the frame or road as possible,in other words, angle or slope to from the forward mounting point to the axle.
