Cant post

I have been trying to post a thread in the transmission and rear end forum for a few days now. When I try to post it I get the following message

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1024 bytes) in /home/jon/www/forum/includes/functions_search.php on line 197

If I try to post again I says that it is a repeat and I will be directed to the forum. Whats going on and why can't I post.

This is very odd. I'm not certain what the answer is right now. Can you clear your cookies, dump your browser cache, restart your browser, and let me know what happens from there?

You know I have done that and like I said it has happened several times over several days. I can post here obviously and can reply to any post it seems but cannot start a thread in the transmission section.

OK -- this issue is happening for more people now. I'll troubleshoot it in the morning -- there is more info in this thread.

No it doesn't matter what size post it is. I tried once post in a sentence that just said "test post test post test post" and this wouldn't go through.
