Capiler Pistons - Rusted
I've taken my calipers down to their component pieces for rebuilding
The pistons are in good condition on the bottom and on their outer (bore-facing) surfaces
But, the inner faces have started to rust
Can I do anything about this?
I don't think it would have any effect on the cars braking ability
As mentioned, the outer surfaces of the pistons are nice and clean, and the seals for the pistons are set into the bores, it's just the inner faces that are rusted
Can I paint them, should I leave them alone, or should I replace them with stainless pistons?
Also, how should I refinish my calipers?
Is powder coating ok?
I'd heard that PC could retain too much heat, and that cadmium plate is better, but I haven't found anywhere that does that for the general public anymore
Thanks in advance guys
