Anyone else peeved @ car commercials. Doing donuts on the salt flats at about 200mph, jumping lift bridges and buildings, racing trains, far beyond the vehicle capabilities. Just so you won't be too disappointed when you take your new Grand Am to the salt flats and find out the chip stops you at half your anticipated velocity, the fine print at the bottom of the screen reads professional driver, results may vary, modified stunt vehicle,etc. Guess that's the reason Dad's Chevy pk up won,t pull that navy destroyer out of Lake Erie.

Anyone else out there seen stupid car commercials?

Yup and sick of em... half the commericials they do aren't even modified cars.. they just use blinking lights to cause seizures and give the appearance that the car is fast...

I personally wouldn't mind if they had some boring commercials where they had pictures of the actual car... in a garage... telling specs... and a bit of pricing

I agree!! If I took any one of my trucks and put it thru half of what manufacturers do on their respective commercials, the warranty would be void!!! I bought a 94 chevy heavy duty 3/4 ton, tow pkg, plow pkg, the works, for my landscape co. Even bought the new plow from the dealer. At 41,000 the transmission dropped out of it and the service advisors exact words, " Well, what did you expect, you plow with it and pull a trailer." WHAT???? I had all the reciepts of the tranny filters I bought from them every 12,000. After much argueing, chevy paid for it. So I could just imagine the response after a day in the desert, or 4 wheelin thru stream beds.

Even though I despise rice burners, I gotta admit I like the little "Zoom, Zoom, Zoom song that Mazda has. Whatever group sings that song oughta make a CD of it and release it.

Do you guys remember the commercial where the Ice Breaker is in the water and they're saying that it takes 6 diesel engines to pull it along to break through the ice?Anyway,then they said that sometimes that it needs a 7th diesel engine and they drop a 4x4 Ford F-350 Dually off the side of the boat and it pulls it on through.I like Fords but damn,that's a bit extreme I think.Also the same as on the back of the magazines where they show the Chevy's way bigger than life?It's rubbish I tell you!

I just have one question. Who really buys a car because they saw a commercial on TV for it? Like someone is really gonna see it and say "Ohhhh, that car looks nice. I'm gonna go buy it right now!!" I think the car manufacturers are just wasting money that could be used to improve their products with new technology. Just my opinion.

Has anyone else ever noticed that the cars in the commercials have windows tinted so dark you can't see thru any of them, even the windshield is limo black. Makes the cars/trucks look really sharp, but go to a dealer and ask for vehicle identical to the one in the commercial, won't happen.

well i was at the very not so tacky monster truck show and during intermission they played this commeceral about a f350 superduty pulling an air plane across an air field and well the plane took off behind the ford i am a ford person but with todays emmissions and chips and such yeah right i would belive a 1966 d100 custom with sports package 426 hemi and a 4 speed now that might might pull that off

I love when the commercial brags about their new customized vehicle having a whopping 210 HP. My God, that's a lot of HP. I don't know if I could actually handle and drive a car that powerful!!!! <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[nono]" />

It's a cold winter morning, and the snow is really coming down-

And there's this Volkswagen beetle pulling up to this barn. The guy hops out opens the doors and there's a snow plow inside the barn. Then the announcer say's " Ever wonder how the snow plow driver gets to the snow plow?"

Anyone remember this one?

I've seen some V-dubs do some pretty hairy driving from snow to being submerged in mud and water and still run strong so I think I might be able to belive that one, but not much more. What I really want to see in person is a ford duelly get a load of steel dropped into the bed from 8-10' and drive off withough a limp, no second though I want to do it
