car does not crank

hello
yesterday by mistake , i reversed the plugs at the battery ( the - cable is red , and the + is black easy mistake if you are not fully awake )
after i tried to start the car ... noticed a burning smelling .... saw my mistake..
i pluged the right way the battery , the engine started but only once.....
now when i turn the keys nothing happend

what do you think thanks

You probably took out the fusible link.Which was the burnt smell,it is there to protect your system,replace it and you should be back in business.

when you said fusible link ,im looking for what ? its a fuse ?
i googled and didnt find pictures

its a 72 chevelle

It was an EZ find on Google,click on this: no power you will find a wiring diagram look in the upper left side by the battery and you will see it.The fusible link looks like a wire you will probably see where it is burnt,a length of fusible link is about $3 at Autozone.

i just check with a resting light
and the fusible link is fine
the lights are working everywhere all around the car

you think i could have blown the starter ?
