Car idea

I always like thinking up ideas for cars, one day I thought about making the cheapest car in the world while in history class and came up with the wilmont proviso after a few months I shortened the name down to "proviso" and came up with a rough draft that was refined over and over again into the proviso type 2

heres a picture

Basically the idea is a super cheap economy car.It is a front engine front wheel drive car. The engine would be a Honda 1.6 liter in line 4 making roughly 100hp, the body is fiberglass and a steel frame, the rims would be tiny at 13 inches the ties would be about 160mm wide and thinner tires in the back. The suspension would be a rigid dead Axel with leaf springs in the back and independent with McPherson struts in the front

To save money the single exhaust would exit out the right side before the rear wheel also there would be no catalytic converters since the engine runs clean enough to pass inspection without them. The car would use more common parts from more popular cars, headlights would be from a Toyota corolla and the engine and trans from a civic.

The buyer could delete options like the radio and back seat to save even more money

wouldnt thinner tires in back cause a less stable ride?

Americans dont like small cars, I think thats been proven.. allthough with todays gas climate higher MPG is desirable, but most of us like to know we can pass a car at 70mph (hey i do anyways) look at all the small cars america has produced.. they end up looking like fads than stable nameplates. look at all the foreign car companies that tried "sub compacts" but failed, like hyundai and dhiatsu, Dhiatsu left the US, and hyundai makes bigger cars now..untill the ENTIRE U.S. resembles a huge city, I dont think you'll see a market that will desire subs. They are all over in London, but london has a legitimate space issue. I think the manufatcurers need to give us V6's and V8's that get better mileage... I also think they should be looking at diesil or even biodiesil as a replacement for gasoline

well in other countries MOST manufacturers already have sub compacts,so you'd be in a crowded market!! in london there are two smaller VW's (smaller than the Golf) the Polo and Lupo, Mercedes has the A class etc.. what you should do is go look at the European or Japanese versions of the major car manufacturers sites you can see all the line up there

Now that is kind of sporty looking. What needs to be done is in towns that have a population of "X" amount of people, make it mandatory you drive something that size around town and if the town is small enough then golf carts should be mandatory. Just think about the amount of fuel it would save. Then again if we would just quit selling out oil to the other side of the world that uses 1/3 of all the oil

I work for a Plastic Injection molding company -

a couple of years ago they made a large enough mold (the thing weighs several tons) to actually make an entire car body with one shot of plastic... it was supposed to be a smart type sub-compact to sell to 3rd World countries - nothing ever came of the project, Chrysler didn't want anything to do with it.

drivetrain not included

Ok not to sound like a jerk, but I apologize for my previous post. I like your idea, and I wasn't trying to cut it down at all.

No thanks, not to jump completely off subject but Ill stick to my four wheel drive truck. I like knowing the fact that hondas could come at me from all directions and Id come out the better. It may take 60$ to fill up once every four or five days but its well worth it the way some people drive.
