Cheapest and the most NOT correct way to do it is heat the coils...I'm not even gonna tell you how its done because I hate to see you do it.
2nd cheapest and most common way is to CUT the coils.

Rusty, theirs cheap and a very uncomfortable and maby unsafe ride, then theirs more exspensive and right. Its your choice, but I'd opt for the safe, a bit more exspensive and right. The cheap way is to cut the coils and opt for a single rear leaf spring instead of a stack, lowering blocks are the right way nd are pretty cheap too. The right way is lowerd spindles, lowerd springs and lowering blocks. Cutting the coils is hard to do right, and it will leave you car bouncy unsafe, bottoming out etc, the one leaf swap isn't safe either, one leaf cant hold the weight that 4 did, but I've seen it done.

13" Dayton wires hanging out of the fenders. LOL!!!!! Just kidding. DO NOT torch the springs. Check into dropped spindles or usually you can purchase coil springs with up to a 2" drop thru different aftermarket companies. If you know someone that is a machinist then you can have blocks made for the rear(I think the axle on a Ford is on top of the spring) to lower it. You will have to purchase longer u-bolts. I'm not too familiar with Fords but you may also be able to flip the rear leafs to the top of the shackles if they are now on the bottom.
