May be the wheel cyls if they haven't been replaced in a few years or you need the brakes adjusted or the brake hoses, They will check valve, if this stuff is old replace it all Or change it over to disk.

yes, drums all the way and i can't afford discs right now.

it feels a little spongy, but it's always felt like that.

i got drums replaced about 10 months ago, it's not leaking either.

Most of the time when the brakes are serviced the flex hoses are not replaced and they end up being on the car for years. If you have recently had your brakes serviced or everything looks good when you inspect it, I'll bet the front flex hoses need replacing and they are not that expensive.

Check the comtrol arm bushings.Loose, worn bushing will cause the caster to change as you brake hard, and epending on which way the road is crowned,or which way the wheel is turned will dictate which way the car will pull.

Are the shoes installed correctly, The longer friction surface toward the rear. If you're not aware there is a long shoe and a short shoe, some people don't know that.
