Post car shuts off

my 65 chevy been shouting off later.i start it and then it shoutb off.i cant figure out if its the distributor wire which i aready put a new connecting onthe wire.are if its my ignition swith.anyone know what mite be wrong?

Sounds like you may have swapped wires on the starter solenoid also.

i recently ran into this problem with a customers 65 chevy. i checked the ignition wire, when it was in the start position it would have power, when it was in the run position, it would not, the switch was bad, so instead of installing a new switch, I installed a toggle switch ran from the battery. this may not be your problem, but it is a place to look.

i agree with doublevision i did the same on a 69' camaro and fixed all the problems. goodluck
