Car is smoking at high rpms...

Is there anything specific that would cause a motor to smoke at higher revs? (4000-up)

I saw a ricer fly up the road as I was waiting to pull out, so I got out and floored it. I happened to be looking in my rear view mirror and noticed some smoke a second before I shifted. It did not smoke until it was in the higher revs and did not stumble or anything. Could this be caused by blow by or something else involving the PCV??? PS, not really a pressing issue as this motor should be out soon...

Black smoke? Probably just rich on the secondary side.

That's what I was thinking too somewhat, but it was a lighter color smoke, that is what made me tihnk of blowby or something with the PCV as I have it weird things happen with that...

Probably just cleaning the carbon out, which would be blackish. Whitish smoke usually means moisture. Is it loosing coolant, or any sign of water in the oil? Would look at the head gaskets, if this was the case.
