I wish my car sounded like this. This is my favorite clip on streetfire.

That gives me goosebumps.
The recent incident with the race car doing a burnout and killing those people on the street should say enough about doing something like this. Yeah Rob, I remember this video on here from before but it's still worth sharing. Do anybody happen to know what kind of car it is? |

Its the Aussie version of a nova.
they have different names & they are kinda mixed from the American versions.Maybe One of our Ozzrodders could define it for us I know what a Monero is. Kinda a Monte Carlo/Camaro/LeMans ...... I love the older threads! This video should be bumped semi annually I wonder if he gets dizzy of black out from all the smoke? I'd give my left n*** to find out R

[QUOTE=Rob Keller]Its the Aussie version of a nova.

Thats pretty accurate Rob....1968 General Motors Holden GTS. Built in Australia by Holden who produce cars and export throughout the world. Their design team works very closely with their American counterpart and there is alot of resemblance in designs and styling. That particular model in that video was the two door version known as the "GTS". Originally powered with Holdens 253 ci v8 or the bigger 308 ci v8. However that one probably had a blown chevy in it. Also released was the "monaro". It came standard with chev 327 and from 1969 with the 350. The four door was known as the "kingswood" and had a 179 ci or 186 ci inline six also produced by Holden. The 253 and 308 were offered as an option along with powerglide trans. In 1971 a new body style was released and named the "HQ" This shape remained right through until the late 70's although it did receive alot of cosmetic changes and facelifts during that time. This shape consisted of the HQ, HJ, HX, and finished with the HZ. Powered by the new 202 ci six or 253 or 308 v8. also a new trans was used called the "Trimatic". Based on the turbo-hydro. By 1979 this era was over and the model was dropped in favor of a smaller, lighter and more modern styling. Known as the Holden Commodore it was an instant success and is still produced today. The latest version has 3.8 v6 as standard or can be ordered with LS2 and 6L80 trans. The "SS" is tough but the "SSV" is way better at 410 hp. |

Dang, the flames coming from the tailpipes are pretty obvious but I just now noticed the red pipes and mufflers.

Hampton magnesium injection hat, buzzard sized butterflys. enderle 660 mechanica l fuel pump. runs on methonol. gearbox is a powerglide, with a 4400rpm converter. 4.3 - 1 geared diff. approx 1000rwhp on tap. breaks tractio n at any speed, in any gear at no more than 1/8th throttle. built in P erth Western Australia... Thanks for that information rossco
I wonder how close the parts are from there to here .I mean I wonder if they interchange. Blazin 72 I think I got that pix from Ozzrodders. The Aussies got some tuff stuff they are probably as ingenious as the Cubans are because of their remote ness{is that a word?} That is one hell of a drive train can you imaging how long it takes for it to cool down? Ha run um till they POP! R
