Car Speakers Advise Needed
Guys I need some advice on which speakers to buy. I know little to nothing about car stereo equipment but the daily driver needs new speakers and I don't know which ones to buy. Heres the selection I'm looking at http://www.crutchfield.com/S-5XiusnC...&avf=Y&search= the front and rear speakers are the same size. I don't know which company makes quality pieces, what would over kill, or if I should use one kind in the rear and another in the front. I'm not adding an amp or anything, I'm even leaving the stock head unit in.
Which ones do you suggest? Thanks for any help, it will be greatly appreciated. Mike |

Mike, A friend of mine put a set of pioneer brand speakers in his chrysler Lebaron. They sound good, perfect for a daily driver. he picked them up at walmart I believe.

I have always been a fan of Kenwood, Pioneer, and Alpine brands.
As for speaker types, if you could, put the 6.5" in the front and place some 6x9's in the rear. That will give you the highs and mid range sounds up front. Depending on what sort of speaker you put in the back, you can get the high, mid, and lows from the rear. I would probablly go with a 3 way 6x9 in the rear to give you a much "fuller" sound, and a 2 way 6.5" in the front. Chris |

if your keeping the stock radio you don't have to be to picky any good speaker from one of the above manufacturers will do fine. the stock radio doesn't put out a lot of power so its really not to important to get top of the line speakers. it depends on your budget, you dont have to break the bank.i've always had good luck with alpine.
