Okay, I can already tell that this is the post where I get booted from this site.

Chris Ledoux was a personal hero. Bought a tape off the tailgate of his pickup when he won the Saddle Bronc title in '78. Saw him in concert 58 times. Wore a black armband the day he succombed to his liver disease. Amazed at his mention here.

Another favorite is Junior Brown. Saw him at Billy Bob's Texas last year. My 10 year old son, Ryder, can sing every one of his songs, word for word.
