Some songs I did not see mentioned on this thread so far;

The Corvette Song - George Jones

Cadillac Baby - Colin James and the Little Big Band (excellent Canadian CD similar to the Brian Setzer Orchestra).

Smokin' 'N Burnin' - Brian Setzer, Nitro Burnin' Funny Daddy CD (you should see the wild hot rod on the cover of this. Brian Setzer was the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter for the Stray Cats).

Someone mentioned Lonestar's song with the lyrics '700 dollars is a heck of a deal for a 400 horsepower jukebox on wheels...' The song is called 'What About Now'.

There is also a new band fronted by Jason McCoy called 'The Road Hammers' that have a great self-titled CD that is all driving/trucker tunes. Some original and some remakes of stuff like 'Girl on a Billboard', perfect for listening to while driving. The music is country with a heavy southern rock influence.

If you look in any copy of Old Skool Rodz you will see in their music section reviews of obscure Rockabilly bands that have all sorts of hot rod songs on their CDs, if you like that kind of music and want to find something other than The Stray Cats and early Elvis and Buddy to listen to.

Here is a complete list of HotRod Lincoln Songs, with lyrics, including "Hot Rod Hades" which i remembered as "The Hot Rod Lincoln Goes to Hell"

And who says epic poetry is dead?...

http://www.rockabillyhall.com/HotRodLncln1.html

And i read that Charlie Ryan, see a post above, is in bad health, he is 91. I'm not totally sure he is still alive, but i went and ordered a cd and a signed picture just to help out a little..

I tracked this one down too..

Seven Little Girls (Sitting In The Back Seat)
by Paul Evans & The Curls

Seven little girls, sitting in the backseat,
Kissing and a-hugging with Fred,
I said "Hey, would one of you come up and sit beside me?"
And this is what the seven girls said:

[chorus:]
"Keep your mind on your driving, keep your hands on the wheel,
Keep your snoopy eyes on the road ahead,
We're having fun, sitting in the backseat,
Kissing and a-hugging with Fred!"

**???**

Drove through the town, drove through the country,
Showed them how a motor could go,
I said, "Would one of you like to see my dual carbureator?"
And the seven girls whispered low...
One, two...

And as for "409" Beach boys, of course.

Here is a page with some muscle car songs..

Yes it was - on the "Bat out of Hell" album. Edgar Winter played saxophone, Todd Rundgren played guitar, and Max Weinberg played drums on that song - Ellen Foley was the female vocalist.
