Caravan engine removal

I know... not a hotrod... at least not this one. Sorry. I hope someone can help me anyway.

Can the engine in a Dodge Caravan be removed from the top, or does the cradle have to be dropped and pulled out from underneath?

I hope someone can tell me. A friend wants an engine replacement in one... not sure why she doesnt want to just get another vehicle... Anyway, I dont have a lift at home, so if it comes out the bottom only, I'll have to tell her NO

I dont have much info on it yet. Sorry.

I didn't realize there would be a difference... I just figured they all either had to come out of the bottom, or they could be pulled from the top. That's what I get for guessing.

So if it's a 1stgen 4cy maybe it can come out of the top, and the rest not?
