Post carb

i have a 350 in my s-10 that i rebuilt last year. It has a holley 750 vac. sec's. When i punch the gas the engine just falls on its face for about a sec or two, then it picks up. I hate it when it does that. Does anybody know how to fix this? I have played with the timming and idle mixture screws a little and haven't seen any difference. any thought would be appreciated

Change your accelerator pump squirter one or two sizes bigger or until you lose the bog and then you might want to check your vacuum secondary spring make sure its not floppin open to fast because of to light of spring, but its probably the accelerator pump.(wrenchturner)

Do you know when you hit your gas looking in your carb.you see two streams of gas squirting thats your accelerator pump, one screw washer on top and bottom, they are numbered cant remember the increments right off hand how they run,but take it off and go to your speed shop and tell them you need a size increase or look at your number and ask the next size up.you might need 2 sizes up.I think there about 8 bucks.hope this helps (wrenchturner) you can email me.go to my profile if you need more info.this wont affect your mixture, check your power valve requires removing your float bowl and metering plate there also numbered, has it back fired? when they back fire they tend to blow the power valve.the right power valve is one or two sizes lower than your vacuum reading with a vacuum gage.so if your vacumm is say 10--85 check this in drive block your wheels (safety first)
