Means nothing, having the Vacuum advance hooked up increases idle speed and changes everything.
Troubleshoot the issue, dont introduce anything new until you fix the original issue

If you replaced the distributor and still fluctuating. Maybe the timing chain is loose.

well some how it just fixed itself then. i went to start it the other day though and it started backfiring from exhaust. it cleared out for the most part but seemed to have a bad miss as i drove it for the day. any ideas what could have happened?

i did notice that when my fans are on it kills my fuel pump and it bogs down but when i check my pressure im at almost 7psi usually. but i looked at the filter and it seemed to be almost empty like hardly any gas was making its way through. i let the car set, came back out and turned on only the pump. it filled up the filter so maybe when its running and not a lot of gas being in the filter is just something iv never paid much attention to and its always done it.

i just put gas in it, turned the fuel pump on, and nothing. the fuel pump made the noise itll make when the tank is empty, but never sounded like it had fuel running thru it. the fuel filter was empty and i had no pressure. any ideas? i dont think its the line from the pump to the motor because i didnt even hear fuel running thru the pump. could the pump be bad even though its no leaking and running? this is my 2nd pump so could something be ruining them? regardless does anybody have any ideas?
