using a spacer kinda acts like using a bigger carb, (more plenum volume to draw from) and thus more air, this is why you may have to jet your carb ritcher (your getting more air) if your car responds well to the spacer then it may be ok to go with a bigger carb, if it doesnt then you may want to stick with what you have...a dual plane intake always likes a bigger carb that say a single plane..a new carb costs hundreds and a spacer? about 30 bucks...and FYI, spacer's are a great way to fine tune performance..(if needed)
