carb choice

I am building a 383 SBC set up for a weiand 177 low profile blower. I am building a '37 Ford coupe to put it in. My question is:
Went to the swap meet last weekend and saw a B&M intake adapter to mount side draft solex carbs. The guy had several carbs and the mainifold at a fair price, so I got his card & number. The problem I am having is deciding between a race demon carb 775 set up for the blower or the side draft Solex's. Does anyone have experience with either of these set ups? One of the issues is hood clearance and the side drafts would look good but which would perform better? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

I would go with the Demon or a Holley. The side drafts would look different and give more clearance, but I think they would be a headache. I also don't think they would perform nearly as well.

I agree with the above comments. Side drafts look cool, but can be a real pain for a street car.

Demon vs. Side drafts

You're going to find it easier to tune the Demon carburetor. You'll be able to get help, and tuning parts for the Demon very easily.
