Assuming you have a heavy car or an auto trans I'd go with a Vacuum Secondary carb- NOT a double pumper.
Here's a good Vac secondary carb: Demon Carburetion Speed Demon Carburetors 1563010VE - SummitRacing.com |
Yes it's an 86 Monte Carlo ss

A 750HP double pumper will work the best. You can build one using any 650-700-750 DP and the holley or proform HP body upgrade kit. This is the carb you need.

750 double pumper would be an excellent choice.
Ive used 600 double pumper/750 and 850 on my old camaro and also used 2X750 carters on a 355 street car.The worst was the 600 double pumper, the 750 was the easiest drive,it just works at every RPM |
Is the 750hp double pumper worth the extra money or can I get the regular double pumper 750

the 4779 doesnot have removable air bleeds. Are you planning on doinga detail tune job on the car? Have you tried the carb shop? talk to Pat

I'll probally never use anything else again. These are basically made for your combo. All I had to do was adjust idle and go. Jetted perfect out of the box.
