Carb to fuel injection conversion
Hi
I am a regular guy that has a passion like you'll for cars.I have been trying for a while now to find someone who knows about carb to feul injection conversion, someone that is able to help me start out my bussiness .I know this is an unconventional approach but i do not have the time or the neccesary contacts to get this venture off the ground.I am tooking for someone that is capable of producing a unit that will replace the carb on a 2200 ltr 4 cylinder engine.I was thinking of something simple ,like a single injector like on the pontiac grand am.No, i am not fooling around all of my questions in the past have been answered the same way ,talk to the people that manufacture performance parts .I am looking for a regular joe that is looking to use his knowledge to make money.I appreciate all those that have taken the time to try to help.I apologise if i have wrongfully used this sight to gain information.

Why Why Why It would be expensive as hell, nightmare to set-up and it will be slower then a carb.

I agree. Given a decent carb (QJet
), it is a better thing to be with than EFI. Many will disagree with us, but it is all opinions in this area of autos. It might be better mpg, but hey.....we are HOTRODDERS! We obviously don't mind the high consumption of gasoline. ![]() And a QJet can out-perform most EFI, believe it or not. But most importantly...[i]carbs are more easier to work on than EFI[i]!! 78SilverShark |

Having lived with a properly calibrated Quadrajet carb for over 31 years, I would agree that it is the best carburetor design around. I wouldn't have any other for a street car. But having also lived with an injected '88 Ford V8 for the last 15 years, I can also tell you there is no way even a Q-jet works as well as EFI.

Fuel injection is superior to a carb in just about every way IFFFFFFFF it is well tuned. I am in the process of doing my own custom efi setup for my turbocharged small block.
Those who think that a carb will outperform a properly tuned efi, are in for an awkening one of these days. There is no better way to tune an engine than electronically. It can be tuned for all out performance, and mileage all with the same components. Dont give up on it. I will be able to give more solid advice over the next 6 months as I am getting all the bugs figured out and worked out on mine, but I am more than confident it is the best way to go. Chris |
