Carb and intake...??

Hi,i want to upgrade my stock intake(chevy 350) with Edelbrock and on other side i decide to change my 4bbl Rochester with Edelbrock 1406,which intake should i use for best mileage and performance??
Is it a good idea to have these parts(Edelbock) instead of stock one(Rochester)??

How expensive is your gas in Iran? A well built Qjet will outperform an Edelbrock carb easily, in power, drivability, and mileage. The E carb will work, run well, but it wont do anything great. The Qjet is more complex than the E carb, so you have to know something about them whereas the E carb is a bolt on and go, maybe change the metering rods. Your choice.

Carb

Each gallon is 1.60 dollars how ever it was really cheap before revolution...!
In compare with US it is still cheaper but we don't have a good income here(1000 dollars in a month...)
Thank you for helping,is it a good idea to have a new inake for my Rochester? Rochester is a good carb but mine use much fuel!!

Edelbrock "performer" is a good intake for a mild street engine. It will improve volumetric efficiency at lower engine speeds, over the factory intake. For higher "revs", Performer RPM is called for.

If your Q-Jet is providing poor mileage, something is "wrong". As Thumpin455 said, Q-Jet is an excellent carb, FAR superior to the E-carb (IMO). A certain amount of expertise is necessary to "get it right". Cliff Ruggles has published a book through SA Designs detailing the process for a good result. He (Cliff, "Cliff's High Performance") aklso provides a very good rebuild "kit" for any model of QJet.
