carb problem

hey guys could someone tell me how to set the idle on a 1975 chevy nova 250 6cyl ,i'v looked and looked cant seem to find an adjusting screw anywhere ,it idles to low in gear and dies when you come to a stop in gear , please help ,thanks interceptor429

Chances are that there isn't an idle mixture screw (preset at factory), but there should be an idle speed screw. Should be near the bottom of the linkage, by the throttle shaft.

Also, make sure the choke is not stuck shut, and is working right.
