Carb Question

Ok Guys I Got The Chevy 350 Running.....finally. All I Have On This Thing Is A Edelbrock Performer Intake, Flat Top Pistons, And Headers. Well I Found A Holley(list 6919, Model 4160) 600 Cfm, Electric Choke, Vacuum Secondary. It Has Size 62 Jets On The Primary Size And A Metering Plate On The Secondary Side. My Question Is Are Those Jets Going To Be Too Small Or Should I Replace Them. I Had The Engine Running For A Brief Minute And My Intake Got Really Hot. The Exhaust Gets Really Hot Too. I Can See Where Its Turning The New Exhaust Pipe Kind Of Purple. What Do You Think?

Check your timing and water flow. I dont think it would be that lean.

Those jets sound about right.....At idle, the jets dont come into play....maybe the idle screws need adjusting. Put a vacuum gauge on it and set the idle screws.

was it getting hot at idle, is all the coolant in the engine?
