sounds like you need to decide first if you want a 1/4 mile car or a strip car because they are different animals and require different carbs.

isnt a "1/4mi car" the same as a "strip car"? i think you meant strip car vs track car - but in either case, i dont think they require much difference in carburetors. no matter what, it's still a street car, so any performance carb out there will work fine. when he starts putting out over 800 hp, or has forced induction of some sort, THEN start thinking about specialty carbs.

as for a recommendation, i'd say holley 750 dp or bg speeddemon 650 dp. if you've never driven a double pumper carb and want it to be a bit "easier" driving, go with a vacuum secondary.

Which Carburetor

On your combination we'd recommend using a 650 Mighty Demon carburetor.

well for the street i'd go with a 750 mighty demon or holley 4010 or 4011.for the strip i'd go with a 650,700 or 750 double pumper.big difference at the gas pump.holley also has the race 750 annular booster dual 30cc pumper # 9379 might be what you want.check jegs online.those are all in about the same price range and performance range or close anyway.
