hello hotrodders community, just needed some help from you guys.
-I have a '71 Chevy Van that I recently purchased. The previous owner installed a carb'd 305 from a 77-78 Chevy Caprice Classic, IIRC. Everything is basically stock with the exception of some headers. Still running on the 2 barrel. This van will be used to tow light vintage import cars around and for bringing parts back from my junkyard crusades. I wanted something smoother and better on gas mileage so i was pondering about installing a Tuned Port Injection(TPI) system from a late 80's camaro/firebird. Now here's my question...


-What do I need to do in order to convert my '77 Carb'd 305 into a TPI 305?

So far I know I need the TPI system, harness and computer.
--Anything else or special plumbing or welding I would need to do to the existing engine?
--Has it ever been done/Could it be done to this old of an engine?

you will also need the sending unit out of the fuel tank on the doner car, the fuel pump, and you'll need to run a return fuel line. That's all I can think of for now. Good Luck.

I have a almost complete TPI system off a 1990 IROC-Z with a 305. I don`t have the wiring harness or throttle body, i do have ECM with hypertech chip, distributor, TPI base, runners, plenum, FI rail, I`m looking to sell this at a good price, if your interested let me know.
