Carburetor cleaning on exterior

Hello guys I just have a quick question here and need some advice from someone who has cleaned carbs before.

I just put a new quick fuel carb on my 350 sbc that has more tuning options but my old 1850s holley is over two years old and looks good for the shiny zinc color wise but the linkage and fuel bowl screws and other metal screw pieces are starting to corrode and rust and was wondering what can I use to clean that off and is there a silver paint I could use to paint them so they don't rust again?

Just going to be putting it to the side for a spare for time being and want to get it cleaned up in that area.
