i have a small block chevy 400. .030 over, mild crane cam, stock heads, edelbrock performer intake, headers, auto trans, stock 2.56 gears in the rear. i'm shopping for a new carb and i've basically narrowed it down to either the 750 cfm edelbrock or the 670 cfm holley avenger. i'm by no means a full time gear head. i did put this engine together but when it comes down to tuning a carb, i have zero experience. i have a q-jet on it right now but it has dead spots at different rpm's. nothing ticks me off more than hesitation on acceleration. i'm sick of trying to get this thing running smooth. i've tried different engine timing, adjusting the mixture etc. i just want a smooth running car. i don't race it. i only drive it 10-12 times a year. i park it in winter. HELP!!
